Events
- 4045 BC: Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, and Gollum finish their passage of the Dead Marshes. Gandalf arrives in Edoras with the Three Hunters and heals King Théoden of Rohan. Éomer is released and Théoden holds Herugrim again; Gríma is expelled from Edoras and leads Orcs northward. Gandalf is named lord of Rohan and is officially given Shadowfax; Rohirrim ride west, against Saruman. Erkenbrand is defeated at the Second Battle of the Fords of Isen. Treebeard's Entmoot ends in afternoon, and the Ents in question march on and reach Isengard at night.
