Caelus (Caelum) (Latin: sky, heaven) was the Roman Protogenos of sky, Roman aspect of Ouranos and the vakha Menel, and son, as well as husband, of Terra. Caelus and Terra had three sets of children: the Elder Titans, Elder Cyclopes, and Hecatoncheires. However, Caelus was disgusted at the appearances of their latter two sets of children and had them thrown into Tartarus, enraging Terra and causing her to tell their youngest Titanic son, Saturn, to scatter Caelus.

Ouranos's blood and body parts eventually caused more monsters to be born, including the Furies, who were born in union of Nox and Caelus's blood. However, the most well-known child of Caelus born in this manner was Venus, daughter of Caelus and Thalassa.
