This page is about the current and only known dynasty of Proud Lions ruling as monarchs over Pride Rock; its patriarch, Simba, serves as the people's king. Biological members born into the family share the BAD200003111E2000 gene, making them good people but dreadful with names. This led to catastrophe when King Ahadi named his first son "king" and gave his second son the nickname of "trash", leading to said second son, Scar of Pride, committing fratricide and leading a coup. The bad naming met its lowest point with King Simba ("lion").

Members

Pre-first generation

King Askari was a prince of the Pride Lands who discovered the Roar of the Elders at Cikha Escarpment and used it to found the Lion Guard as its leader. With the Guard, Askari defeated the Scarlions and established peace between the Proud Lions and the Aminifur.

First generation

King Mohatu was a Lion King of the Pride Lands who reigned during a drought. He was considered a wise and selfless king and was succeeded by his son ⊻ son-in-law, Ahadi.

Second generation

King Ahadi was a Lion King of the Pride Lands. While he was considered a good king, he appears to have had a strained relationship with his second son, Scar, Lion King. While he was most likely the son of his predecessor Mohatu, there is nevertheless a possibility that it was his wife Queen Uru who was Mohatu's child. Uru famously discovered a lake in the western Pride Lands, lessening the impact of a drought. Ahadi, or Uru, was succeeded by their son Mufasa.

Third generation

King Mufasa was a Lion King of the Pride Lands. Mufasa was likely an exceptionally great king, but met his end in a wildebeest stampede in a canyon of the Pride Lands orchestrated by his brother Scar. After saving his son Simba from the stampede, Mufasa nearly escaped to safety but was thrown from the nearby cliffside to his death. Scar would succeed him as king.

Fourth generation

Fifth generation

Through marriage

Even before her marriage to Simba and subsequent rule as Lion Queen, Queen Nala was instrumental in leading forces against Scar, Lion King in the Battle for Pride Rock.
Queen Sarabi was a good person. She was also a queen, and then stopped being a queen. She supported her son Simba in the Battle for Pride Rock.

Mheetu may have existed. He may still exist. He may not have ever existed. How existential! If he did exist? He was a lion.
The father of Nala and husband of Sarafina fell from a tree in his youth and was saved by the Lion Guard.
Nuka was an Outlion who died attempting to assassinate Lion King Simba.
Sarafina killed and ate the father of the Graveyard Hyena Kamari.
Vitani is the current head of the Lion Guard after previously being scout and second-in-command of the Outlions.

Etymology

Ahadi is a Swahili word meaning "promise".

Askari is a Swahili word meaning "police officer". Scar, Lion King was named after Askari, Lion Guardian of the Pride Lands; his nickname Scar is a diminutive form of Askari derived from his noticeable Lion Scar.

Kiara is a Swahili word meaning "princess"; it also functions as a feminine form of the Irish name Ciar ("black") and the Roman name Clarus ("bright, clear, famous").

Kion may be a diminutive of the Swahili word kiongozi ("leader").

Kopa is a Swahili word with a variety of meanings, including the hearts suit in playing cards, cheating, borrowing, and some plants.

Kovu is a Swahili word meaning "scar"; King Kovu was likely named after Scar, Lion King.

Mtoto is a Swahili word meaning "child".

Mheetu is a name of unknown origin. Claims to the meaning of Mohatu, Nala, and Sarafina too proved unfruitful. The same can be said for Mufasa; despite an incessant belief that the name means "king" in the Manazoto language, such a language shows signs of hopelessly low ontology, at least among humans. Nevertheless, the "Manazoto" tongue could hypothetically be the true language of Pride Rock before translation, either screen translation or through a Babel fish effect, into either English or Swahili.

Nuka is a Swahili word meaning "stink".

Sarabi is a Swahili word meaning "mirage".

Simba is a Swahili word meaning "lion".

Uru is a Swahili word meaning "diamond".

Vitani is a name that may have origins in the Swahili words vita ("war") and ni ("am, are, is"). Since this might be a stretch, Vitani could also refer to the Swahili word vitani ("ducks").

Zira is a Swahili root meaning "hate".
