Relationships
Family
A rumor exists that Matt from Wii Sports is related to Mace Windu,[c] but this has been neither confirmed nor denied.
Chatt From Wii Sports
Chatt From Wii Sports is the father of Watt From Wii Sports.[23][24] He is, much like his son Watt From Wii Sports and grandson Matt from Wii Sports, an accomplished boxer. On July 29, 2020 CE, he and Matt from Wii Sports sparred in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Mii Brawlers; Chatt From Wii Sports emerged triumphant,[8] although they both alleged in the comment section of Chatt Vs Matt (Boxing) that they were using less than 5% of their power.[23] The two appear to have a competitive but good relationship.
Katt From Wii Sports
Little is known about Katt From Wii Sports, although she is a camera shy[25] family member of Matt from Wii Sports.[12]
Patt From Wii Sports
Patt From Wii Sports is the son of Watt from Wii Sports[26] and brother of Matt from Wii Sports. On July 4, 2019 CE, the brothers faced off in a game of ping pong; Matt from Wii Sports was victorious and consoled his brother in the comment section of Matt vs. Patt, saying, "Look at the bright side my brother, you're still able to grow such beautiful hair".[7] The brothers appear to have a competitive but good relationship.
Watt From Wii Sports
Watt From Wii Sports (b. October 25, 1956 CE – October 24, 1957 CE), is a former boxing champion and table tennis pro, as well as a retired veteran;[27][13] he is the father of Matt from Wii Sports and Patt From Wii Sports.[26] On October 16, 2019 CE, Watt From Wii Sports lost a game of table tennis to Matt from Wii Sports; Matt from Wii Sports said online, "He hasn't played for a while but it was a good match," and expressed hopes that Watt From Wii Sports would soon return to the world of ping pong.[6] The two get along rather well and think highly of each other.
The cousins
Ratt From Wii Sports is Matt From Wii Sports' paternal first cousin, allegedly a homeless cigarette user.[11] His brothers are Fatt from Wii Sports[9] and Phatt from wii sports.[10] While Matt from Wii Sports is sometimes embarrassed and agitated by his cousins, for example Ratt From Wii Sports' cigarette habit, they are not hostile.
Wii Sportspeople
On July 8, 2010 CE, when Wii Party events were linked to Timeline Alef, Matt from Wii Sports and Lucía from Wii Sports were the closest friends to compete in Friend Connection, being good buddies.[4] Sometime before November 19, 2006 CE, in an age when Matt from Wii Sports' favorite color was red rather than orange, Andy from Wii Sports unsuccessfully attempted to usurp Matt from Wii Sports' title as Boxing Champion; it is unknown if the two hold any animosity based on this incident.[2]
Megalovaniacs
Matt from Wii Sports is the leader of the Megalovaniacs, answering only to W.D. Gaster. Gaster and Matt from Wii Sports have a fair relationship and respect each other's skills. Although Matt from Wii Sports has not shown special difficulty in working with any other Megalovaniacs, save the usual chaos and discoordination in Wrongalovania, certain members have expressed their opinions about Matt from Wii Sports. Matt from Wii Sports has worked well with the Kremling Krew,[3][5][18] Dedede,[14] SANta Claus,[18] Toxtricity,[19] and King Dice,[21] and been antagonized and insulted by Piranha Plant,[15] Claude von Riegan,[16] and Guzma.[17] Kris from Deltarune has no known interactions with Matt from Wii Sports, but has expressed hope for an alliance. Like all Megalovaniacs who participated in Wrongalovania, Matt from Wii Sports has also fought alongside Sans Undertale against the Fallen child of man,[22] and is also notable for having defeated the Fallen child of man and saved Timeline Nabla from the Genocide Route alongside the Kremling Krew;[3] he opposes the Megalomaniacs. Matt from Wii Sports once fought Cuphead in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate alongside the Kremling Krew and Sans Undertale.
Matt from Wii Sports has expressed interest in forming alliances with Waluigi[5] and Sora.[3] While Waluigi has joined the Megalovaniacs since then, they have no known interactions. Furthermore, as an ally of Dedede and the Kremling Krew, Matt from Wii Sports may join in Dedede's rivalry with Kirby or the Kremling Krew's wars with Donkey Kong Island.
Other
A theory developed in the comment section of Matt vs. Patt goes that Matthew Patrick's screen name, "MatPat", was stolen from the names of Matt from Wii Sports and Patt From Wii Sports. While the idea is sound, the theory has no evidence.
Strategy
Matt from Wii Sports is the OG Megalovaniac (excluding Sans Undertale and Eduard Khil). Stay. On. His good side. Matt from Wii Sports was already absurdly powerful in 2006 CE, but his powers have since grown from "sports god" to "universal savior". He does admit that he is "[n]ot the best at b-ball",[3][5] though; he is also poor at tennis, baseball, and cycling; he is rather meh with table tennis. Boxing and swordplay render him overpowered, and he has considerable prowess with a Gaster Blaster.
Miscellaneous facts
- Matt from Wii Sports is always left-handed while competing in Wii Sports, but appears to be right-handed in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and has alluded to being right-handed on his official YouTube channel. One possible reason for this is that while participating in Wii Sports, Matt from Wii Sports prefers to use a Classic Montoya Handicap; evidence for this possibility includes the fact that he frequently makes the claim, "I'm only using 1% of my power."[3][5][14]
- Matt from Wii Sports plays the güiro.[28]
- Matt from Wii Sports is from North America.
Etymology
Matt from Wii Sports is called Matt from Wii Sports because he's from Wii Sports. The name Matt is an English diminutive of Matthew, the English form of Mattityahu ("gift of God"). In South Korea, Matt from Wii Sports is called Oscar, an Irish name that could mean "deer friend" or be an Irish form of the Old Norse name Ásgeirr ("god spear").
