The Jackson family is a human family in the United States of America. Its current matriarch is Sally Jackson and its most famous members are Josiah Jackson, the first president of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, and Percy Jackson, a Hero of Olympus. Through Sally Jackson's marriages to Paul Blofis and Gabe Ugliano, the family also provides the only known links to two more American human families: the Blofis family, whose current patriarch is Paul Blofis, and the Ugliano family, whose only member, Gabe Ugliano, died in 2006 CE.[note 1]

The Jackson family appears to be an offshoot of the Johnson family and a member of Bolson Construction Infinite. The family has an average generation length of 31 years.

Sally Jackson is a woman of positive character traits and is a certified OW! KEPT Immune. She is an author and enjoys the color blue.
Sally was a lover of Poseidon circa 1992 CE, violating the Eldest Gods' Oath. Their union resulted in the birth of their son Percy Jackson. Sally married Gabe Ugliano around 1995 CE because his putrid nature helped shield Percy from Monstrum. In 2006 CE, Sally was attacked by Asterion II and held hostage in the Hadean Underworld by Hades to serve as collateral; the King of the Dead believed Percy to have stolen his Helm of Darkness. Upon the retrieval and return of the Helm, Hades released to her to her home in Manhattan. Sally proceeded to petrify Ugliano with Medusa's head, which he deserved richly. In the years that followed, she married Paul Blofis and played a minor role for Olympus in the Battle of Manhattan in 2009 CE and gave birth to Estelle Blofis in 2011 CE.

Laura Jackson and her husband Jim Jackson died in a plane crash in New York 241.40 kilometers (150 miles) south of Lake Ontario when their daughter Sally Jackson was five years old.
Paul Blofis is a man of positive character traits and is an English teacher at Goode High School. He married Sally Jackson in 2009 CE.
Gabe Ugliano was a GARQUL who married Sally Jackson circa 1995 CE solely because his sheer disgusting nature helped shield Sally's son Percy Jackson from Monstrum. In 2006 CE, Ugliano was no longer needed as Percy began learning to defend himself from Monstrum at Camp Half-Blood. Thus, Sally petrified him with Medusa's head and sold him as a super-ugly neorealist stone statue under the name The Poker Player.

Etymology

Jackson family

The English surname Jackson means "son of Jack"; Jack is an English diminutive of a form of the Hebrew name Yochanan ("Yahweh (God) is gracious").

Estelle Jackson's first name is an English and French name derived from the Latin word stella ("star"). Her nickname Laura is a multicultural feminine form of the Latin word Laurus ("laurel").

Jim Jackson's first name is a medieval diminutive of James, an English form of the Hebrew name Ya'aqov ("holder of the heel").

Josiah Jackson's first name is an English version of the Hebrew name Yoshiyahu ("Yahweh (God) supports").

Rich Jackson's first name is an English diminutive of Richard, a multicultural name meaning "brave ruler".

Perseus Jackson's first name is taken from the name of his cousin, the Greek hero Perseus. Its meaning is unknown, although one possibility is a relation to the Ancient Greek word πέρθω pertho ("to destroy"). His nickname, Percy, here used as a diminutive form of Perseus, is an English name derived from the Latin name Persius, possibly related to the Etruscan word 𐌘𐌄𐌓𐌔𐌖 φersu ("mask"). Percy is also sometimes used as a diminutive of the English name Percival, probably a form of the Welsh name Peredur ("hard spears").

Sally Jackson's first name is an English diminutive of Sarah, a Hebrew name meaning "noblewoman, princess, lady".

Blofis family

The American surname Blofis is an enigma, as it sounds like the English word blowfish. In fact, the surname is famous for being an embarrassing pun internationally as well, bearing resemblance to the German word blaufisch ("bluefish"), the Polish word popis ("show-off"), and the Portugese word balofice ("fatness").

Estelle Blofis's first name is taken from the name of her grandmother Estelle Jackson (see below).

Paul Blofis's first name is a multicultural name derived from the Roman family name Paulus, meaning "humble, small".

Ugliano family

The American surname Ugliano is an enigma, as it sounds like the English word ugly. The family's only member, Gabe Ugliano, is indeed well described as ugly in appearance, personality, and smell.

Gabe Ugliano's first name is an English diminutive of the multicultural name Gabriel, a form of the Hebrew name Gavri'el ("God is my strong man").
