"Finally! The Olympian Council—so proud and mighty. Which seat of power shall I destroy first?" |
— Kronos in Olympus[[{{{4}}}|[src]]] |
Cronus (Kronos) (Greek: kraino "to rule, to command) (pronunciation: KROH-nus) was the king of the Titans and lord of time, harvest, and wealth, as well as the Greek aspect of Saturn and the vakha Coiasira. Kronos was the twelfth and final Titanic child of Ouranos and Gaea, becoming extremely ambitious as a result, leading Kronos to be the only one to agree to Gaea's plan to kill Ouranos as payback for throwing their Elder Cyclops and Hekatonkheire children into Tartarus.
Kronos proceeded to become king of the universe, but became a tyrannical king after being obsessed with Ouranos's prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, leading him to swallow his children. His sister and wife Rhea managed to save their last child, Zeus, however, leading to him growing up to rescue his siblings, overthrow Kronos, and throw him into Tartarus after the Titanomachy.
After many failed attempts to return and trick demigods into helping him, Kronos ensnared the support of Luke Castellan, son of Hermes. Castellan attempted to steal the Master Bolt and Helm of Darkness and bring them to Kronos, but failed and was caught by Ares. However, Castellan tricked Ares into keeping the Bolt and Helm to start a war between the Olympians. Kronos then used Castellan's body as a vessel to return to the mortal world and destroy the Olympians' thrones to eliminate them. However, Castellan was able to stab himself to kill himself and scatter Kronos, ending his threat.
Abilities
As the son of Ouranos and Gaea, the Titan king of Othrys, and the father of the Big Three, Kronos is an incredibly powerful force and can control time itself.
- Prowess in Battle: Kronos is extremely skilled and experienced in physical combat even for a Titan, and was also tactically powerful, described as Perseus Jackson as "never where you expected".
- Chronokinesis: Kronos can control and manipulate time itself, particularly relishing the destructive capabilities of time and finding speeding time up to age mortals amusing.
- Hypnokinesis: Kronos can invade the dreams of even Olympians, such as Ares.
- Electrokinesis: Kronos can send down powerful lightning bolts, although his ability to do so is far inferior than that of his son Zeus.
- Titanic Energy: Like other Titans, Kronos can release a blast of energy from his body.
- Titanic Divine Form: Kronos possesses an extremely violent divine form which incinerates any mortal being in his presence.
- Primordial Language: Kronos is completely fluent in the Primordial Language, which was spoken by the Protogenoi, Titans, Elder Cyclopes, and Hekatonkheires.
- Manipulation: Kronos is a master of manipulation, being able to persuade four of his brothers to help kill Ouranos despite being the youngest. Kronos was also able to persuade demigods and even minor Olympians to join his cause, as well as manipulate Ares to attempt to start a war between Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades.

Trivia
- As the youngest Titan, Kronos was initially ignored by both Ouranos and Gaea, who could not even remember his name.
- Although Kronos is the Titan of harvest, Demeter claims that he does not care for agriculture.
- In the game Mythomagic, Kronos has infinite attack and defense.
- Kronos and Zeus have numerous similarities.
- Both are the youngest siblings of their respective brethren (Titans, Elder Olympians)
- Both hated their fathers (Ouranos, Kronos) for ill-treating their children (Elder Cyclopes and Hekatonkheires, Elder Olympians) and were convinced by their mothers (Gaea, Rhea) to overthrow them. They then overthrew their fathers with Kronos's Scythe and the aid of their siblings.
- Both freed the Elder Cyclopes and Hekatonkheires and received an object (Othrys, Master Bolt) made by the monsters as gifts.
- Both ruled as Lords of the Universe and were the leaders of their own families.
- Both fell in love with and married their elder sisters (Rhea and Hera) as their queens.
- Both are/were cursed to be overthrown by their children (Zeus, unknown)
- Both swallowed at least one of their children (Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon; Athena)
- Both cheated on their wives at some point.
- Kronos also shares at least one trait with each of his other children.
- Like Hestia, Kronos did not wish to marry at all, albeit only initially.
- Like Demeter, Kronos is associated with harvest, despite not caring much for it.
- Like Hera, Kronos had an infamous and fearsome temper.
- Like Hades, Kronos was feared by all of his siblings, nephews, and nieces, and both of their respective palaces have/had pure black obsidian exteriors.
- Like Poseidon, Kronos had an unpredictable sense of humor, although Poseidon's is not nearly as cruel and sadistic.
