Demigods, also known as half-bloods, are a race of beings who are half-mortal, half-god. Although demigods age slower than regular mortals, they are still vulnerable to old age and death. However, a demigod's immortal parent grants them special abilities that allow them to achieve feats usually impossible to be accomplished by regular humans.

Description

Demigods are born from a god and a human. These children have reflexes above average for mortals, an affinity for either Ancient Greek or Latin, and often some control or skill over the realm of their godly parent. Greco-Roman demigods often have ADHD and/or dyslexia.

Demigods are usually born the same way as regular humans, with the exception of demigod children of Athena, who are born from the merging of their parents' thoughts, reflecting Athena's own birth from the head of Zeus. Athena also remains a virgin goddess. However, Athena's Roman form Minerva does not have children at all.

Few demigods have full-blooded siblings, as their godly parent will usually leave their mortal parent not long after or sometimes even before the child is born. Demigods also often go on quests. Greek demigods' quests are issued by the Oracle of Delphi (temporarily the Grove of Dodonna) and Roman demigods' quests are issued by augurs, or in extremely rare circumstances, a Roman Olympian. Norse demigods' quests are issued by the Norns.

Children of a demigod and another human (even another demigod) are called legacies, who may or may not inherit traits from their divine ancestor(s). Many demigods are also legacies.

Appearance

Demigods are completely indistinguishable from humans. To Egyptian gods, however, Greek demigods appear as humans with powerful ultraviolet auras. Demigods usually inherit both physical and personality traits from their divine parent. Children of Aphrodite/Venus often have kaleidoscopic eyes to fit the viewer's ideal of beauty.
